Load Calculator

Safety Warning: Any time you attempt to lift near-maximum loads, you are at risk of serious accident or injury. We strongly suggest you have a certified strength coach or trainer assist you as a spotter.

The Truestar Load Calculator is a great tool for calculating the amount of weight to use for each exercise based on the suggested percentage of load. Simply follow these steps:

1. Complete a warm-up set of 10 to 12 repetitions with a light weight focusing on full range of motion and perfect technique.

2. After a short rest interval, perform two to four repetitions with a medium to heavy weight.

3. After a three to five minute rest interval, choose a weight that only allows you to perform three or five repetitions. Record this weight.

4. From the Load Calculator box, select the number of repetitions you were able to perform before failure or fatigue (3 or 5).

5. Enter the weight you lifted.

6. Enter the percentage of load you are using for the particular exercise.

The Load Calculator will then give you the amount of weight to use for the specific exercise in your program.
