The holidays are in full swing and the New Year is right around the corner. Lose weight in the New Year, start a new career, save money, quit smoking, exercise more—what do you want to accomplish in 2004? Whatever your goals, Truestar Health will help you accomplish them. Follow these five steps to get ready for 2004.
1. Start thinking: As we spend time with our families and friends this holiday season, we are given an opportunity to reflect on the past year and look ahead to 2004. Start thinking about what you want to accomplish in 2004. Keep a note pad nearby for ideas, thoughts and desires. During the holiday season, your creativity will be unleashed, allowing your mind to explore its deepest thoughts as you plan and prepare for who you really want to be. Some questions to get you started thinking:
- What would you do in the New Year if you won one million dollars?
- If you were guaranteed to succeed at one thing in the New Year, what would you do?
Are the answers to your questions is something you could work toward achieving? What is stopping you from doing that? Fear? |
2. Be all that you can be: After writing some ideas and goals for the New Year, it is time to turn them into reality. A goal that isn’t written down is simply a dream. Many people spend hours planning a wedding, a party and a vacation, yet spend no time planning their life. You need a plan, a road map for your life, so you can have a direction. Success doesn’t happen by accident, you have to plan for it. Living without goals is like going a trip and not having a destination; you’ll probably end up in the town of Nowhere and just about any road leads to it.
3. Ready, set, goals! As you spend time over the holidays thinking about your ambitions for 2004, why not get a head start and complete a goals program a little early. The best investment you can ever make in yourself is spending time writing goals, making a plan for your life. |

4. Holiday travel: More than one-third of the population spends an hour or more a day commuting to and from work. That’s 240 hours a year! During the holidays, many people spend hours in commute. What a great opportunity to get motivated for the New Year. Listen to some motivational CDs, take turns reading in the car or share your New Year’s goals with each other.
